Methademic! (Methamphetamine)

The methamphetamine epidemic has touched the lives of everyone throughout the nation and most don’t even know it.  The focus of the talk will be helping citizens to understand methamphetamine and to identify the telltale signs of a Meth Lab.

This crime affects people from all walks of life, no matter the age, race, or economic status.  This class will discuss the affects, laws and options regarding domestic violence.

 

Identity Theft

The fastest growing crime in America! This class will cover the different characteristics of the crime and what to do if you become a victim.

 

Community Oriented Policing / Problem Solving

Police Officers and community members will discuss affective techniques that have helped develop a working relationship between the public and the police. The focus will be on both groups working together to fight crime and make the  community a better place to live and work.

 

Special Units

Today’s Law Enforcement must perform a wide variety of tasks. This class will provide an overview of the different units required to accomplish the police mission.

 

Crime Scene Investigation (CSI)

Learn what it’s like to collect evidence and reconstruct a crime. Though the popular television show “CSI” has created a certain image, let actual detectives discuss what it’s` like to be on a crime scene.

 

Police K-9

The canine plays an important role in law enforcement. Come learn what it takes to be a canine handler and see an actual demonstration of the police canines in action.

 

Terrorism

This term has changed all of our lives forever! This class will cover the changing roles of law enforcement and the threat of terrorism both at home and abroad.

  

Citizen Emergency Response Teams

If a disaster hit your community would you have enough paid emergency response personnel to handle the problem? Are there enough trained volunteers to assist? If the answer is no, then this class is a must. Learn about the training and how to get one started in your area.

 

Sentinels

Would like to assist police out in the field with traffic, report taking and other duties? This might be your calling. This class will provide an overview of this great volunteer program. Learn how to get one started in your area and how they help law enforcement. 

 

Neighborhood Watch

These groups are the eyes and ears of law enforcement! Learn how to start a watch group in your area or ways to improve an existing program.

 

Roundtable Discussions

When citizens get together it is a great opportunity to discuss what’s going on within your community.  This session will provide the chance to work as a group to discuss problem solving ideas, share success stories and brainstorm to improve communities.

 

Weed and Seed

To change a high crime area it is important to “Weed” out the bad and plant a “Seed” of good. This is a national program that has been effective throughout the country. Learn what it will take to start one in you area and about the proactive programs that make a difference.

 

Neighborhood Restoration

Sometimes police action doesn’t solve a problem. Discussed here will be such innovative programs like “Drug Free Zone Act”, “No Cruising laws, Neighborhood Services, and other related topics. This class will be great for departmental and city administrators to find effective ways to solve problems.

The ultimate in less-than-lethal! Check out this presentation on how it works and see an actual demonstration. It’s a real “Shocker”.

 

Gangs

From small community to big city, gangs are a threat to our young people. This class will provide an overview of the major gangs and some of the telltale signs of their members. 

 

Fundraising

The most needed element of any organization “funding”. Join us for a discussion on fundraising ideas, how to market your program and win the support from the community. We encourage class participation and sharing of ideas during this presentation.

 

Citizens Police Academy and Alumni

This class is a basic introduction to the concept of a CPA and the function of an Alumni Association.

 

Safety Awareness for Women

This class will focus on personal safety for women. Learn to develop a survival thinking process and daily strategies to keep you safe in today’s high-risk environment.
