Captain Ronnie Smith Jr.

 

          Captain Ronnie Smith Jr. was born in Lawton, Oklahoma where he graduated from Macarthur High School and Cameron University with an Associates degree in Criminal Justice.

 

          Captain Smith began his career with the Lawton Police Department in September of 1997. Smith spent several years in the patrol division, serving on the bike team and as a field training officer as well as earning his advanced CLEET certification.

         

          In 2001, Captain Smith was assigned as one half of a two man unit working the zone one area as part of the police department’s effort to clean up crime in the area.

 

 In 2002, Smith was assigned as a detective in the Special Operations section working Narcotics and Vice Operations.

 

In June of 2005 Smith was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and served as a patrol supervisor.

 

          Captain Smith was promoted to the rank of Captain in December 2010, where he serves as a uniform division Watch Commander, the department’s Quartermaster, and an intoxilyzer supervisor.
